I met the lovely Rhiannon what seems like ages ago - when I was pregnant with my now almost 1 year old son! Rhiannon reached out to me like a bolt out of the blue, yet when we sat down over coffee it was like we had known each other forever! This encounter is a perfect example of what I love about what I do - Rhiannon had simply felt a synergy between us and was courageous enough to reach out and connect, and I am so glad she did. We had so much in common and I was really excited to learn about Rhiannon's plans for her new business - what is now whoSOCIAL. Read more about this gorgeous dynamo below x
Obviously I know all about you and your awesome business - but please tell the readers a little more about your business and what makes you unique?
whoSOCIAL is a social media marketing online business exclusively working with Accountants and Bookkeepers helping them achieve a consistent social presence. We offer services that provide consistent, curated social media profiles.
I came from 12 years in the Accounting industry and have also co-founded a boutique Accounting business. My background is in business management and I quickly built my career in the industry managing internal functions of an accounting business. I am one of very few women in the industry that has held the position of Non Technical Equity Partner in an Accounting business.
Whilst in Partnership I saw an opportunity in the area of marketing and social media for Accountants. This is an area that many Accounting businesses don’t pay much attention to and I really want to use my knowledge and experience, to help Accountants and Bookkeepers better utilise these digital platforms to better their business and engage more with clients and prospects.
What’s been going on since we caught up?
The last time we caught up I was on my way to Sydney where I had a stand at the first annual Accounting and Business Expo. What an experience this was! After attending many industry events in past years, this is one of the first conferences that was product neutral and after speaking with many attendees and vendors, this is going to be the industry conference to be at for years to come. People were genuinely interested in the service I was offering and I was quite pleased to see that they are starting to realise that social media isn’t something that is going away and they need to start doing something with it. I came away with so many great contacts, clients and ideas to expand on, the exposure was just priceless!
I’ve also expanded my services from providing only curated and scheduling of social media content. Now offering startup packages for those who need help setting up their social profiles from scratch including content. To also offering social media audits, for those wanting to get a better perspective about what’s happening on their social profiles with suggestions on improvements.
What was your favourite part about our coaching sessions?
Catching up with Lanna is like my breath of fresh air. It’s that moment when I take all those tabs open in my head, let all my ideas (good or bad) spill out, tick off my to-do lists, KPI’s and goals then start to refocus again. Sessions with Lanna ground me and help me remain on the right path. Lanna has this ability to really connect with you on a personal level while still remaining professional. She’s the person I know I can contact whenever I have those crazy ideas and I know she will listen and not judge. Lanna is efficient, detail-orientated and extremely competent in her line of work. She is an inspiration and I’m glad our paths crossed, she has definitely been a valuable asset to my progress personally and in business.
What are you focusing on for the rest of the year?
At the moment I’m focusing on putting together a workshop offering to help Accounting businesses and their internal teams better understand social media. Understanding what social media is and how it can help an Accounting business will be the foundation of this workshop. It’s important for Accountants and Bookkeepers to know why they should be using social media for their business and by running these more intimate personal sessions we hope they will gain a better perspective as to why social media can benefit them.
Any other news, events or offers you’d like to share?
You will be seeing whoSOCIAL exhibit again at the Accounting & Business Expo in Sydney March next year. We can’t wait to get back and reconnect with those that we met last year and promote the new services.
I also have a passion for women in business, as someone who has built up her career in a short space of time, not one to sit still and constantly looking at ways to push my boundaries. I think it’s important for work/life balance and mental stability that we do something that lights us up. I have my ‘business project’, a ‘passion project’ and have just started contributing toward my ‘giving back’ project. The Organised Perspective is a blog about organisation, productivity, working from home and a snippet into my personal life with two young kids. Under this banner, I am really looking forward to presenting a workshop with Amanda Viviers for women in business, you can find out more about that here: http://amandaviviers.com/product/3-nov-how-to-get-more-done/ And you can also follow me on Instagram at @the_organised_perspective.
